Last checked:
No, Rockstar has not announced an official GTA 6 price, edition lineup or pre-order bonuses. What is confirmed: Grand Theft Auto VI launches on November 19, 2026 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. I track the official channels and will update this page as soon as Rockstar publishes prices, editions or bonuses.
GTA 6 price and editions at a glance
This table covers each item people search for, split by platform. If a cell says “not announced,” that means Rockstar’s site, the PlayStation Store listing and the Microsoft Store listing did not show it when I last checked.

What Rockstar has officially confirmed
This is the full list of first-party facts I could verify on Rockstar’s own channels and the console store pages:
- Release date: November 19, 2026. Take-Two moved it there in November 2025. The previous date was May 26, 2026, and before that Rockstar had said “Fall 2025.”
- Platforms: PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. There are no PS4 or Xbox One versions.
- Setting: The state of Leonida, which includes Vice City.
- Protagonists: Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos. Both appear in the two official trailers.
- Trailers: Trailer 1 came out in December 2023. Trailer 2 followed on May 6, 2025.
- Store listings: The PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store pages went live around Trailer 2. You can wishlist the game on both, but you can’t buy it.
Rockstar has not confirmed anything on the commercial side. That means no price, no edition names, no pre-order date and no bonus content. I also couldn’t find a published final ESRB or PEGI rating. Given the series history, an M (Mature 17+) and a PEGI 18 are the obvious expectations, but expectations aren’t confirmations.
GTA 6 price: what we actually know
Rockstar has not put a price on Grand Theft Auto VI. That includes its own site, its newswire, its official social accounts and the PlayStation and Xbox store listings.
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has been asked about pricing several times on investor calls. His answers stay general. His usual line is that Take-Two aims to give players more value than it charges. He has not named a number and has not said whether the base game will go above the current console standard.
The $79.99 claims
Some pages ranking for this search state that GTA 6 will cost $79.99 and describe a higher-priced Ultimate Edition. When I last checked, Rockstar’s store, the PlayStation Store and the Microsoft Store did not show those figures. I treat them as unconfirmed.
If Rockstar publishes a price, it will show up in three places almost at once:
- Rockstar’s newswire.
- The official Rockstar social accounts.
- A purchasable listing on the PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store.
A price that appears on a retailer listing, a reseller page or a social post but not on those official sources should be read as a placeholder or a guess. Retailers often use placeholder prices like $69.99 or $99.99 on upcoming games, and these get treated as leaks every cycle.
Where AAA console pricing stands right now
This context is fact, not prediction. It explains why the $69.99 versus $79.99 debate exists at all:
- $69.99 is the standard US price for big first-party and third-party releases on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Most of the current generation launched at that level. The yearly Call of Duty price follows the same pattern.
- Nintendo priced Mario Kart World at $79.99 in 2025, the first major console release at that level.
- Microsoft announced The Outer Worlds 2 at $79.99 in 2025, then reversed and dropped it to $69.99 before launch.
So a game at $79.99 on console is possible, and it has happened. Industry pushback was also strong enough to make Microsoft back down. Rockstar’s choice will set the tone for the industry, which is one reason it hasn’t announced early.
Editions: Standard, Special, Ultimate?
No GTA 6 editions have been announced. There’s no confirmed Standard, Deluxe, Special or Ultimate Edition, and no collector’s box tied to the game.
Rockstar’s own history gives a reasonable idea of the shape it uses. I’m including it as background, not as a forecast of GTA 6 prices.
| Game (year) | Edition | US launch price | What the extra money added |
|---|---|---|---|
| GTA V (2013) | Standard | $59.99 | Base game |
| GTA V (2013) | Special Edition | $79.99 | Bonus in-game content plus physical extras such as a map and steelbook |
| GTA V (2013) | Collector’s Edition | $149.99 | Special Edition contents plus a physical collector’s bundle |
| Red Dead Redemption 2 (2018) | Standard | $59.99 | Base game |
| Red Dead Redemption 2 (2018) | Special Edition | $79.99 | Story mode bonuses, extra items, in-game cash bonuses, printed map |
| Red Dead Redemption 2 (2018) | Ultimate Edition | $99.99 | Special Edition contents plus Red Dead Online bonuses and steelbook |
The pattern is consistent. Rockstar offers a base edition at the standard price, then one or two premium tiers. Those tiers usually stack single-player bonuses (weapons, outfits, a horse or vehicle, cash boosts) with online-mode bonuses. Physical premium editions have included printed maps and steelbooks.
If GTA 6 follows that pattern, expect any premium tier to bundle content for both the story and whatever online mode launches alongside it. Rockstar has not described an online component for GTA 6 yet, so even that is unconfirmed.
Digital vs physical
Rockstar hasn’t said whether GTA 6 will get physical disc editions on both platforms or which editions will be digital-only. The PS5 Digital Edition and the Xbox Series S have no disc drive, so owners of those consoles will need the digital version whatever Rockstar does.
Pre-order bonuses and pre-order status
GTA 6 pre-orders are not open. You can’t buy or reserve the game through Rockstar, the PlayStation Store or the Microsoft Store. No pre-order bonuses have been announced.
Be careful with anything claiming otherwise. Retailer “pre-orders” or “reservations” at placeholder prices aren’t tied to any announced edition. If you pay a deposit, check the cancellation and refund terms before you hand over money.
For reference, here’s how Rockstar handled pre-order bonuses on its last two big releases:
- GTA V had pre-order content delivered through a redeemable code, including in-game items and an Atomic Blimp unlock.
- Red Dead Redemption 2 gave pre-order buyers a war horse, an outlaw survival kit and an in-game cash bonus. Some of it carried into Red Dead Online.
Both times, the bonuses were in-game cosmetic or convenience items, not story content. I expect the same approach for GTA 6, but nothing is confirmed.
Game Pass and PS Plus: is GTA 6 included?
No subscription deal has been announced. GTA 6 is not confirmed for Xbox Game Pass at launch, and it is not confirmed for any PlayStation Plus tier.
Some context on how Rockstar has worked with subscription services before:
- Rockstar has never put a new mainline release into a subscription catalogue on day one.
- GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 each reached Game Pass and PS Plus only years after release, and each rotated in and out on time-limited windows.
- GTA 6 is Take-Two’s biggest revenue event in a decade. Giving it away through a subscription at launch would run against how the company describes the release to investors.
Given that track record, plan to buy the game outright. If a subscription deal is announced, I’ll add it here. If you’re comparing what you get from publisher subscriptions instead, our EA Play Pro guide explains how that kind of plan handles new releases.
GTA+ is a separate thing
GTA+ is Rockstar’s monthly membership for GTA Online on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. It adds monthly in-game cash, vehicles, cosmetics and access to the Rockstar Games Library of older titles.
GTA+ is not a GTA 6 subscription, and membership doesn’t grant access to the new game. Rockstar hasn’t said whether GTA+ will carry over to GTA 6 in any form.
Is there a PC version?
Not announced. GTA 6 is confirmed only for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar has released console versions first before: GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 both came to PC well after their console launches. No PC price, date or edition exists for GTA 6 yet.
How to wishlist it and get notified
Pre-orders officially opened on June 25, 2026, and wishlisting remains a simple way to keep track of the game. It’s the fastest way to see pricing when Rockstar announces it, because your console store will flag the listing.
How to wishlist GTA 6
- Open the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store on your console or the web.
- Search for Grand Theft Auto VI.
- Select the official listing published by Rockstar Games.
- Press Add to Wishlist (PlayStation) or Add to wish list (Xbox).
- Turn on store notifications to get alerts about the listing.
Good to know
Storage requirements are not announced. GTA V on current consoles needs roughly 100 GB, so clearing extra space ahead of November is sensible, especially on a 512 GB Xbox Series S.
Rumors and leaks: how I grade them
GTA 6 attracts more pricing rumors than any other game. Here’s how I weigh the sources before anything appears on this page:
| Source type | Reliability | How I treat it |
|---|---|---|
| Rockstar newswire, official Rockstar social accounts, Take-Two investor materials | Official | Reported as confirmed |
| Live, purchasable PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store listing | Official | Reported as confirmed |
| Established games journalists with a strong Rockstar record | Proven reporter | Reported as “reported by,” never as fact |
| Retailer placeholder prices, database entries | Community or datamine | Mentioned only when widely circulated, flagged as unconfirmed |
| Anonymous social posts, alleged insider screenshots | Anonymous or mixed record | Not used for prices or edition contents |
The $79.99 figure falls into the unconfirmed category until a first-party source backs it up. Rockstar has also had a major leak during development. I don’t host, link or describe any leaked material. Whatever was in it, none of it amounts to an official price.
What to watch for next
These are the moments when price and edition news is most likely to land:
- A third trailer or a dedicated pre-order announcement. Rockstar opened RDR2 pre-orders alongside a trailer and edition reveal months before launch.
- Take-Two quarterly earnings calls. Zelnick fields pricing questions at every call. Formal pricing would likely be announced by Rockstar first, though.
- Store listing changes. When the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store page gets a buy button, the edition lineup becomes public at that moment.
Other big launches follow similar reveal timelines. Our breakdowns of Modern Warfare 4 pricing and the Phantom Blade Zero cost show how publishers phase edition and bonus reveals ahead of release.
FAQ
How much will GTA 6 cost?

Can I pre-order GTA 6 yet?
No. Pre-orders are not open on Rockstar’s site, the PlayStation Store or the Microsoft Store. You can only add the game to your wishlist.
