Roblox has more than 150 million daily active users, and its all-time record is 47.4 million players online at the same moment. Below are the figures per metric, the period each one covers, and why the “right now” question has no single official answer.
Roblox had 151.5 million daily active users in its most recent confirmed quarterly figure (Q3 2025), and set a platform record of 47.4 million concurrent players on 23 August 2025. Roblox does not publish a live platform-wide counter or a monthly active user figure, so anything you see labelled “players online now” for the whole platform is an estimate.
The headline numbers
Every figure here comes from Roblox’s quarterly shareholder letters or its official posts. The date column matters more than usual, because Roblox grew faster in 2025 than in any year since the pandemic.
| Metric | Figure | Period it applies to | Source type |
|---|---|---|---|
| Daily active users (DAU) | 151.5 million | Q3 2025 (Jul to Sep) | Roblox quarterly results |
| DAU growth, year on year | +70% | Q3 2025 vs Q3 2024 | Roblox quarterly results |
| Hours engaged | 36.6 billion | Q3 2025 | Roblox quarterly results |
| Hours per daily user, per day | About 2.6 hours | Q3 2025 (derived) | Calculated from the two figures above |
| Peak concurrent users | 47.4 million | 23 August 2025 | Roblox official announcement |
| Bookings | $1.92 billion | Q3 2025 | Roblox quarterly results |
| Revenue | $1.36 billion | Q3 2025 | Roblox quarterly results |
| Monthly active users | Not published | n/a | Roblox does not report MAU |
Roblox reports results roughly a month after each quarter closes. The Q3 2025 figures were published on 30 October 2025. Later quarters will carry newer numbers, so treat the table as the verified baseline rather than a live feed.
How many players are on Roblox right now
There is no official number for this, and that surprises people. Steam shows a concurrent count for every game it sells. Roblox is not on Steam, and the Roblox website has never carried a platform-wide “players online” ticker.
What you can see is the active count inside each individual experience. Open any experience page on the Roblox site or app and the “Active” figure tells you how many people are in that experience at that moment. Add up the top few hundred experiences and you get a reasonable proxy, which is exactly what third-party tracker sites do.
How to check live players in an experience
- Open Roblox on web, desktop or mobile and go to the experience page.
- Look under the title for the “Active” number, next to visits and favorites.
- Tap Servers to see individual server populations and pick an emptier one.
The only platform-wide concurrent figures Roblox has ever released are record announcements. On 23 August 2025 it confirmed 47.4 million users online at once, driven by weekend updates in Grow a Garden and Steal a Brainrot. Two months earlier, on 21 June 2025, the platform peaked at 30.6 million during a Grow a Garden update, and that single experience held 21.9 million players by itself.
For scale, Fortnite’s own all-time concurrent record is 14.3 million, set on 30 November 2024. A single Roblox experience beat that in June 2025, and the platform total was more than three times it by August.
| Concurrent milestone | Figure | Date | What drove it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Platform record | 47.4 million | 23 August 2025 | Grow a Garden and Steal a Brainrot updates |
| Previous platform record | 30.6 million | 21 June 2025 | Grow a Garden update |
| Single-experience record | 21.9 million | 21 June 2025 | Grow a Garden |
| Fortnite comparison | 14.3 million | 30 November 2024 | Chapter 2 Remix finale event |
On an ordinary weekday, concurrency is far lower than the record. A reasonable sanity check is the hours figure: 36.6 billion hours in 92 days works out to about 16.6 million player-hours per hour on average across Q3 2025. Average concurrency across the quarter therefore sat in the mid-teens of millions, with weekend afternoons in the Americas and Europe climbing well above that and quiet hours falling below.
Daily active users through 2025

DAU is the number Roblox actually reports, and the one you should quote when someone asks how many active players Roblox has. A daily active user is a unique account that logged in on a given day, averaged across the quarter.
| Quarter | Average DAU | Year-on-year change | Hours engaged |
|---|---|---|---|
| Q3 2024 | 88.9 million | +27% | 20.7 billion |
| Q4 2024 | 85.3 million | +19% | 18.7 billion |
| Q1 2025 | 97.8 million | +26% | 21.7 billion |
| Q2 2025 | 111.8 million | +41% | 27.4 billion |
| Q3 2025 | 151.5 million | +70% | 36.6 billion |
The jump between Q2 and Q3 2025 is the largest single-quarter gain in the company’s history, roughly 40 million daily users added in three months. Summer holidays help every year, but the 2025 spike came from the Grow a Garden and Steal a Brainrot phenomenon, which pulled in players who had never touched the platform.
Note the dip from Q3 to Q4 2024. Roblox is seasonal. The quarter covering school term time in the northern hemisphere, October to December, is usually flatter or lower than the summer quarter. Expect the same shape to show up in later years, so a quarter-on-quarter fall in Q4 is not a sign of decline.
Year-by-year growth since 2018
Roblox went public on the NYSE on 10 March 2021, and its filings give a clean annual series going back to 2018. These are average daily active users for the full year.
| Year | Average DAU | Change on prior year |
|---|---|---|
| 2018 | 12.0 million | n/a |
| 2019 | 17.6 million | +47% |
| 2020 | 32.6 million | +85% |
| 2021 | 45.5 million | +40% |
| 2022 | 56.0 million | +23% |
| 2023 | 68.4 million | +22% |
| 2024 | 82.9 million | +21% |
Two things stand out. The 2020 lockdown year nearly doubled the player base, and growth did not reverse afterward. It slowed to the low twenties in percentage terms, then re-accelerated sharply in 2025. The Q3 2025 figure of 151.5 million is almost double the 2024 full-year average.
Monthly active users: why there is no official figure

Roblox has never reported monthly active users in its filings, and that has not changed. The company’s stated reason is that DAU and hours engaged better reflect how people use the platform.
Third-party estimates of Roblox MAU circulate widely, and the most commonly cited figure in 2025 was around 380 million. Treat that as an estimate with an unknown method, not a Roblox number. A useful rule of thumb from other large platforms is that MAU typically runs two to three times DAU, which with 151.5 million daily users would land somewhere in the 300 to 450 million range. That is a bracket, not a fact.
If you need a defensible number for a report or an article, use DAU and label it as such.
How many players have played Roblox overall
Roblox does not publish a cumulative registered-accounts figure either. The nearest public proxies are per-experience visit counts, which appear on every experience page.
Those counts are enormous. Brookhaven RP passed 50 billion visits in 2025. Adopt Me and Blox Fruits are both deep into the tens of billions. Grow a Garden went from launch in March 2025 to the most-played experience on the platform within three months. Visits count sessions rather than unique people, so a single player who returns every day adds hundreds of visits a year.
The honest answer to “how many players have played Roblox” is therefore: well over a billion accounts have been created since the platform launched in 2006, but Roblox has not confirmed a figure, and visit totals are not a substitute for it.
Engagement: how long players stay
Hours engaged is the second metric Roblox reports every quarter, and it is the one that explains the revenue figures. In Q3 2025, players logged 36.6 billion hours, up 77% on the same quarter a year earlier.
Divide by DAU and by the 92 days in the quarter and you get about 2.6 hours per daily user per day. Q2 2025 came out almost identical at roughly 2.7 hours. That consistency is the point. Roblox added tens of millions of users through 2025 without diluting time per user, which is unusual for a platform growing that fast.
Good to know
The “Active” count on an experience page updates every few minutes, not live. If you want a quieter server, use the Servers tab and sort by player count rather than trusting the headline number.
Who plays Roblox
The old picture of Roblox as a platform for under-13s is out of date. Roblox has said repeatedly through 2024 and 2025 that users aged 13 and over make up well over half of daily active users, and that the 17-to-24 age group has been the fastest-growing cohort in several recent quarters.
Device mix follows the same pattern as most free-to-play titles. Mobile is the largest platform by daily users, PC is second, and consoles plus Meta Quest make up a smaller share. The PlayStation version launched in October 2023, so console numbers are still catching up to a decade of mobile and PC growth.
Roblox is fully cross-platform. A player on an iPhone, a Windows PC, an Xbox Series X and a PS5 can all join the same server with no setting to toggle. It is one of the clearest everyday examples of cross-platform gaming working without friction, because the entire platform was built that way rather than patched in later.
Where players are
Roblox breaks DAU into four regions in its filings: US and Canada, Europe, APAC, and Rest of World. The direction of travel is consistent across 2024 and 2025. Rest of World and APAC have grown fastest in headcount, and together they now account for more daily users than the US, Canada and Europe combined.
Spending is the reverse. US and Canada has the smallest user count of the four regions but the highest bookings per daily user by a wide margin, typically several times the Rest of World figure. That gap is why Roblox can add tens of millions of users in Latin America and South East Asia while average bookings per user barely moves.
The exact regional split changes every quarter and is published in each shareholder letter. If you need the current breakdown, that document is the only reliable source.
Twitch viewership is a poor proxy for players
Several pages that rank for this question lead with Twitch numbers. The Roblox category has more than 10 million followers on Twitch, which puts it among the biggest categories on the site. Its live viewership, though, is a rounding error next to its player count.
The mismatch is structural. The audience skews young, and under-13s cannot stream or chat on Twitch. A lot of Roblox video consumption happens on YouTube and TikTok instead, where the big creators sit. So a quiet Twitch category tells you almost nothing about how many people are playing. Use DAU and the per-experience active counts, not stream viewers.
Revenue and what players spend
Player count drives Roblox’s income, so the financial figures are a useful cross-check. Roblox reports both revenue and bookings. Bookings is the cash players spent in the period, mostly on Robux. Revenue is that spend recognised over the life of the virtual items bought, so it lags bookings.
| Measure | Figure | Period |
|---|---|---|
| Bookings | $1.92 billion | Q3 2025 |
| Revenue | $1.36 billion | Q3 2025 |
| Bookings per daily user | About $12.70 | Q3 2025 (derived) |
| Full-year bookings | $4.37 billion | 2024 |
| Full-year revenue | $3.60 billion | 2024 |
| Paid to creators (DevEx) | $923 million | 2024 |
Q3 2025 bookings grew 70%, matching DAU growth almost exactly. That tells you the new 2025 players spent at roughly the same rate as existing ones. The $923 million paid to creators in 2024 is also worth knowing, since the experiences that generate the concurrency records are built by independent developers earning from that pool.
Playing Roblox online: what the numbers mean for you
Roblox is online-only. Every experience runs on Roblox’s servers, and there is no offline mode for players. The practical upside of a 150-million-user platform is that matchmaking is never a problem. Even niche experiences with a few hundred active players fill servers within seconds.
The downside shows up at peaks. Record-setting weekends in 2025 brought login queues and server errors, and the biggest experiences occasionally cap joins when their active counts run into the millions. If an experience shows a very high active number and you cannot get in, the Servers tab usually has lower-population instances a few scrolls down.
Account requirements are minimal. A free account gets full access on PC, Mac, iOS, Android, Xbox, PlayStation and Meta Quest. No subscription is needed to play, though Roblox Premium adds a monthly Robux allowance and a trading unlock.
FAQ
How many players does Roblox have?
Roblox reported 151.5 million daily active users for Q3 2025 (July to September), its most recent confirmed quarterly figure, up 70% year on year. Roblox does not publish monthly active users.
How many players are on Roblox right now?
Roblox does not provide a live platform-wide counter. The all-time concurrent record is 47.4 million players on 23 August 2025. Average concurrency across Q3 2025 was in the mid-teens of millions, based on 36.6 billion hours played over 92 days.
How many concurrent players does Roblox have at peak?
The confirmed peak is 47.4 million concurrent users on 23 August 2025. The previous record was 30.6 million on 21 June 2025. Grow a Garden alone reached 21.9 million concurrent players that day, the highest for any single game or experience ever recorded.
Does Roblox have more players than Fortnite?
Yes, by every available measure. Fortnite’s concurrent record is 14.3 million, set on 30 November 2024. A single Roblox experience exceeded that in June 2025, and Roblox’s platform record is more than three times higher.
How many people have played Roblox in total?
Roblox has not published a cumulative account figure. Individual experiences carry visit counts in the tens of billions, with Brookhaven RP past 50 billion visits in 2025, but visits count sessions rather than unique people.
Can you check how many players are in a Roblox game?
Yes. Every experience page shows an “Active” count under the title, and the Servers tab lists the population of individual servers. There is no equivalent figure for the whole platform.
Is Roblox growing or shrinking?
Growing. Average daily users rose every year from 12.0 million in 2018 to 82.9 million in 2024, then jumped to 151.5 million in Q3 2025. Quarter-to-quarter dips, especially from the summer quarter into the autumn one, are seasonal rather than a reversal.
